Portfolio Review

11/28/11

Within the first marking period of school we had many college visits from many unique art schools.  Out of all of them my interest was focused on Kansas City Art Institute. Ever since I started my journey into honors art the KCAI college visit was always my favorite. My interest in KCAI was so great because of the structure of the school, what it had to offer and the awesome art scene surrounding all it’s goodness. I had my portfolio reviewed by Kate Perryman from Kansas City Art Institute when she came this year to speak to my class. I had the opportunity at the time to show her my Orphism pieces in the showcase at my school. She felt that they worked well together as a whole and there composition was fantastic. Aside from showing her my work in the show case I also got to show her some of my sculpture work and what I was working at the moment. I appreciated her time to look at my art and give some great feedback and direction.

Rationale Bottletar

Rationale Bottletar, 9.15.10.

How does this “bottletar” represent me? Simple because the structure of my bottletar is made out of nothing but poptart boxes and I LOVE me some poptarts. Any and every flavor floats my boat. But aside for my love for Poptarts this also represent me because I love sea creatures as well. I created an octopus because there so gosh darn interesting and flippin sweet looking. Also because I admire the fact that they have 8 legs and I myself would like to have that many legs. It would so cool. My bottletar is very colorful and vibrant. I relate that to how my personality is and my moods. All in all, I just dig octopuses and pop tarts and awesome colors. Word.
